FAQs
What is Nutritional Therapy?
Nutritional therapy takes a personalised, science-based approach to improving your health and wellbeing through tailored nutrition and lifestyle support.
Rather than simply managing symptoms, it focuses on uncovering and addressing the root causes of your health concerns.
Using the latest evidence-based research, nutritional therapy provides bespoke recommendations designed to restore balance and help your body function optimally. It’s about empowering you with the knowledge and tools to feel your best.
Who Can Benefit from Nutritional Therapy?
Nutritional therapy is ideal for anyone wanting to address current symptoms, prevent long-term health issues, or simply feel their best.
I can support adults with a wide range of health concerns, including:
- Digestive issues
- Fatigue and low energy
- Hormonal imbalances
- Autoimmune conditions
- Weight management
- General wellbeing and prevention
However, please note I am unable to work with clients who have, or have previously had, cancer, or those with chronic kidney disease. What Happens During a Consultation?
Your first consultation includes a detailed review of your health history, current symptoms, and food diary.
Together, we’ll explore your goals and create a personalised nutrition and lifestyle plan designed to support your wellbeing. You’ll also receive ongoing guidance and support to help you make sustainable, lasting changes.
How to Prepare for Your First Appointment
Before your initial session, you’ll complete a short health questionnaire and food diary. This helps ensure your time is used effectively and your recommendations are truly tailored to you.
How Long Will I Need to Work with a Nutritional Therapist?
The length of your programme depends on your individual goals and needs. Some clients notice positive changes after one appointment, while others benefit most from a longer-term plan with regular follow-ups for ongoing support.
I offer packages of three or six sessions to help you get the best results, with the option to book additional one-off sessions afterwards as required.
Online or Face-to-Face Nutritional Therapy in Sheffield
Consultations are available online via video call, offering flexibility and convenience wherever you are.
If you prefer to meet in person, face-to-face appointments can also be arranged in Sheffield for a small additional cost.
Both options provide the same high-quality, personalised care and support.
Will I Need to Take Supplements?
Not necessarily. Supplements are only recommended when beneficial and always tailored to your unique needs. My approach prioritises whole-food nutrition first.
Is Functional Testing Required?
Functional testing can be helpful for identifying underlying imbalances, especially for complex or chronic issues. However, it’s not always necessary. If it could add value, I’ll discuss the options with you so you can make an informed choice.
How Does Nutritional Therapy Differ from Seeing a Dietitian or Nutritionist?
As a nutritional therapist, I take a holistic, personalised approach – often using the functional medicine model – to identify and address the root causes of health concerns.
While dietitians and nutritionists also provide valuable support, nutritional therapy focuses on whole-body balance, prevention, and long-term wellbeing.
